Jazz up your life.

So, this was my submission for a jazz poster competition. (I got in 3rd place!) My first concept included the woman on her own, but my professor didn't like that, because it didn't tell "a story".

As I'm a friend of simplistic design, I didn't know how to add a story without cluttering the poster up. Eventually, I did exactly that - clutterrrr!! Out of protest.

I wasn't allowed to use a white background, either - so I went for a fake sappy sunset! (The writing in the background is from a bunch of resource files, that was for free usage and didn't require credit; but if anyone remembers where it's from, please let me know!)

The writing in their bodies is the setlist of artists of that festival. I left out the dates and further informations on purpose for the devArt upload, because I don't want to get in trouble.

I'm too lazy to tell you the story I came up with and told at my presentation - but I can tell you that it rocked. ;D


All in all, I think it's okay. It doesn't really work as a poster, though. But considering that I didn't have much time to create it, I can be content, I guess.
